DISTINCTIONS:Small rounded tree; attractive green foliage divided into 7 to 11 irregularly serrated lobes; excellent vibrant yellow and red fall colors; numerous deep red flowering corymbs in May.
LIMITATIONS:Needs sheltered location especially ‘Aureum’
HARDINESS:SE (Zone 5)
ORIGIN:Japan
CULTIVARS:‘Acontifolium’ deeply cut leaves; orange to crimson autumn color; 8’-10’ height and spread; ‘Aureum’ yellow leaf throughout summer turning golden in autumn; vase habit reaching 10’-15’ high; ‘Vitifolium’ large grape like leaves turning a variety of yellows, oranges, reds and purples in autumn.
