DISTINCTIONS:Single stemmed or multi-stemmed with horizontal branching creating layered effect; green leaves turning purple/brown in autumn; white flowers on 2” clusters in June; ¼” purple fruit; grows in moist acid soils in partial shade.
LIMITATIONS:Leaf spot; prefers cool soils.
HARDINESS:SE (Zone 3)
ORIGIN:New Brunswick to Minnesota and south to Georgia
CULTIVARS:‘Argentea’ leaves have a white margin; grows to 15’.
