DISTINCTIONS:Starts flowering at a younger age than other lilacs; blooms about one week earlier than common lilac; leaf shape similar to common lilac but without the heart-shaped base; spring leaf color bronzish; sun; pH 6.0-7.5; fall color orange to reddish.
LIMITATIONS:Suckering habit; susceptible to leaf miner in SE;.
HARDINESS:SC, SE (Zone 3)
ORIGIN:Northern China
CULTIVARS:var. dilatata Korean early lilac, pink flowers with long flower tubes.
