DISTINCTIONS:Multi-stemmed or single-trunked shrub or small tree; good specimen, screen, or for planter; requires little care; clusters of winged fruits turn red in summer; can develop yellow or red fall color; tolerates full sun or light shade; prefers a well-drained moist soil; tolerant of dry soils.
LIMITATIONS:Suffers some damage in severe winters, subject to breakage from snow loading, may require pruning to develop a specimen form.
HARDINESS:SC, SE (Zone 3)
ORIGIN:Western Asia to Southeast Europe
CULTIVARS:‘Rubrum’ Good deep red autumn color.
