HEIGHT:50 - 80 feet
SPREAD:20 - 40 feet
DISTINCTIONS:Forms a broad conical shaped crown with asymmetrical canopy; needles in clusters of 5, 3"-5" long, bluish-green; adapted to a wide range of soil types but prefers acidic, well-drained soil, pH 4.5–6.5.
LIMITATIONS:Does not tolerate air pollution, heat or salt toxicity. May be damaged by moose or deer browse.
HARDINESS:INT, SC, SE (Zone 3)
ORIGIN:Eastern Canada and United States.
CULTIVARS:‘Fastigiata’ Narrow, upright form 60' tall, 20' wide.; ‘Pendula’ Weeping branches that touch the ground; must be staked when young. See entry under Evergreen Shrubs.
