DISTINCTIONS:Similar to C. betulus but smaller in size; does not tolerate pruning; autumn color ranging from yellow-orange to scarlet; tolerates a wide range of soils including wet and flooded soils; grows in full sun to full shade.
LIMITATIONS:Inferior tree to C. betulus but has merit.
HARDINESS:SE (Zone 3)
ORIGIN:Nova Scotia to Minnesota
