DISTINCTIONS:Opposite, compound leaves resemble F. nigra; yellow fall leaf color; tolerant of drought and excess moisture; may be more resistant to emerald ash borer than American species; grows very well in Fairbanks.
LIMITATIONS:Susceptible to late spring frosts.
HARDINESS:INT, SC, SE (Zone 3)
ORIGIN:Japan and northeast China
CULTIVARS:‘Mancana’
