HEIGHT:40 - 50 feet
SPREAD:15 - 20 feet
DISTINCTIONS:Similar to balsam fir; pyramidal crown with spire-like tip; dark green foliage with silvery undersides; dark purplish cones; suited to moist, cool soils but adaptable to a range of soil conditions; grows in shade to full sun.
LIMITATIONS:Tendency to break bud later than balsam or Fraser fir, which may be preferable.
HARDINESS:SE, SC (Zone 4)
ORIGIN:Reported to be a hybrid with Fraser fir.
