DISTINCTIONS:Rounded form; leaves 5" to 9" long with 7 to 11 pointed lobes, rounded sinuses; pinkish red when emerging, variable brown to red fall color; fruit is medium brown acorn with flat cap; bark is smooth dark brown to black, ridged when mature; shallow root structure, negligible taproot; withstands air pollution.
