HEIGHT:60 - 80 feet
SPREAD:20 - 30 feet
DISTINCTIONS:Conical habit; foliage is soft, flattened; dark green needles have two whitish-gray bands on their underside; young cones bluish turning brown with age; prefers slightly acid soils, pH 5-7; suited to a range of soil textures; very cold tolerant tree; thriving on the UAF campus.
LIMITATIONS:Does not grow as well on warmer sites; prefers a moist, cool climate and moist soil conditions.
HARDINESS:INT, SC, SE (Zones 2-3)
ORIGIN:Eastern Russia, Turkestan, Mongolia, China.
